Venice International Film Critics’ Week are now open!
The Venice International Film Critics’ Week focuses exclusively on debut feature films by filmmakers from all over the world.
18 02 2021We are looking for films able to tear the veil on the world, that have the power to convey our present in unique ways. New gazes, new images, new perspectives.
Each of the films that have been selected in our section have aimed at being a statement in (politically) aesthetic terms. Essential pieces capable of breaking through the collective imagination, leaving its mark.
Check the 2021 Regulations on our website www.sicvenezia.it and follow the instructions to submit your film. The deadline for submission is July 1st, 2021.
The films selected in competition at the 36th Venice International Film Critics’ Week will be eligible for the Venice International Film Critics’ Week Audience Award (5,000 Euro) and other official prizes. Latest winners include Natalia Garagiola’s Hunting Season (2017), Saeed Al Batal’s and Ghiath Ayoub’s Still Recording (2018), Ahmad Ghossein’s All This Victory (2019), and Ghosts by Azra Deniz Okyay (2020).
Furthermore, the films in competition will also be eligible for the Lion of the Future – Luigi De Laurentiis Award for a Debut Film (100,000 USD), awarding the best debut feature across all the Venice Film Festival sections.
The 36th Venice International Film Critics’ Week will take place from September 1st to 11th, 2021.
